Inglewood, CA – July 18, 2005 -- Mark your calendar and plan to attend Inglewood’s annual “Inglewood Celebrates the Arts Market Street Festival,” taking place Saturday, August 27, 2005, from 11:00 a.m. to dusk.

Market Street will be jumping as a diverse array of artists, entertainers, food purveyors and arts enthusiasts fill the street.  Festival activities will take place along Market Street from Florence Avenue to Hillcrest Boulevard.

An array of renowned entertainers will present song, dance and spoken word throughout the day on three stages and booths featuring multicultural artists, crafters and food purveyors, interactive games and arts and crafts for children will line the streets.  The event will also include hands-on art workshops and free giveaways.

If you’re a classic car buff, you won’t want to miss this event.  The City’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department will sponsor its 31st Annual Classic Car show featuring pre-1970 vintage cars and specialty vehicles. As an added attraction to the festival, the Department will present an Art Car Show.  In laymen terms, art cars are artistically and sometimes outrageously decorated automobiles.

For those looking to take in the scenes and do a little shopping, event goers are encouraged to check out the Market Street merchants and other vendors participating in the Festival Marketplace.  And if good food is what you yearn for, the event will also include an international food court featuring the best eateries in town.

This is the City’s eighth annual arts celebration.  Last year’s event was a great success.  Over 4,500 residents and visitors to the City participated in the celebration.  It is anticipated that there will be an even greater turnout and more excitement as The Celebration Continues….  Don’t miss the fun.
