INGLEWOOD, CA – January 25, 2006 – The City of Inglewood invites and encourages all of its residents to attend the upcoming LAX Master Plan Stakeholder Forum, hosted by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) in Inglewood on Thursday, February 2, 2006.  The meeting will be held at Morningside High School in the Auditorium, located at 10500 Yukon Avenue from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

During the meeting, LAWA officials will discuss the LAX Restudy, the status on the South Airfield Improvement Project (SAIP); provide an update on the Part 161 Study and other topics of interest to stakeholders.  Details about the LAX Restudy are still being defined by LAWA.  In discussing the SAIP, LAWA officials will review the construction and implementation schedule, and various components of the tracking and enforcement mechanisms.

The Los Angeles City Council established the Stakeholder Liaison Office as part of the LAX Plan and the LAX Specific Plan to ensure effective public participation in the implementation of the LAX Master Plan.  The purpose of the Office is to provide stakeholders with direct access to information on the LAX Master Plan implementation process and provide a two-way communication conduit between the stakeholders and LAX.

The Stakeholder Liaison Office defines a “stakeholder” as any “…person or group who is directly impacted by the LAX Master Plan.  Examples include airlines or other airport tenants, off-airport businesses, area residents and homeowner/community groups, governmental agencies, the traveling public, etc.”

Inglewood residents are encouraged to attend the stakeholder meeting on February 2nd.  LAWA has requested that individuals interested in attending to please RSVP by calling (800) 919-3766 or e-mail at  (RSVP is not mandatory for attendance.) Individuals needing assistance for the hearing impaired must contact LAWA at least 72 hours before the event.  The forum will be conducted in English, with Spanish translation available.
