24 Hours to Honor Survivors and to Find a Cure

This incredible event is the American Cancer Society’s nationwide signature activity, and it’s returning to our community on August 19-20, 2006.  This year it will be staged at the soccer fields in Edward Vincent, Jr. Park.  At last year’s inaugural event, the Inglewood community raised over $24,000 for the American Cancer Society.  This event raises awareness of cancer in the community, honors survivors and raises money to fund cancer research, education, and patient services.  The RELAY FOR LIFE is truly 24 hours you’ll never forget.

In honor of loved ones that have battled cancer, Councilman Ralph Franklin is the Honorary Chair for the RELAY FOR LIFE INGLEWOOD.  He encourages you to "join the noble cause of fighting cancer.  Together, we will give up twenty-four hours of our lives and take turns walking around the soccer field of Edward Vincent Jr. Park.  You, too, can walk for someone you know who is battling cancer; or remember someone who lost the fight."

The RELAY FOR LIFE is about a community taking up the fight.  The Inglewood team urges you to get involved in some way.  Put together a team.  Sponsor a team.  Become a Corporate Sponsor.  Dedicate a luminary candle commemorating a loved one to be lit at dusk.  Together we will win the fight against cancer.

To start your own team or for more information about joining the Relay, please contact the Event Chair, Darryl Rouzan or the Co-chair, Nicole Loudermilk at (310) 412-5530.
