Measure UUT was approved by 84.33% of Inglewood’s voters in this week’s election. The measure, which lowers the tax rate from 10% to 8% on telephone services which users have been paying since 1975, received 24,165 “Yes” votes and 4,491 “No” votes. In this election, a Yes vote allows the City of Inglewood to continue to collect the tax at the reduced rate of 8%. Like many other California cities, Inglewood has used UUT revenues to provide community services such as police, fire, senior, and youth programs.
