City Hall Offices and Library Close Early in Recognition of Chavez Holiday

Inglewood’s City Hall offices and libraries will be closed on Thursday, March 29, 2012 in observance of the Cesar Chavez holiday.

Traditionally, when a holiday falls on a Saturday city hall offices are closed the Friday before the holiday. However, city hall is already closed every Friday; therefore, city hall offices will be closed on Thursday. As a result of the high volume of weekend usage of by students and other library patrons, the Inglewood Main Library will be open on Saturday, March 31, 2012, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Facilities at local City parks will close on Saturday in observance of the actual Chavez Day holiday.

"We want to make sure that our residents and the public are aware of this special holiday schedule so they can plan their schedules accordingly while honoring the outstanding work and achievements of Cesar Chavez," said Inglewood James T. Butts, Jr.

Thursday, March 29th Saturday, March 31st
City Hall – CLOSED Park Facilities – CLOSED
Libraries – CLOSED Libraries – OPEN
Park Facilities – OPEN

All City offices, libraries and park facilities will resume their normal hours of operation on Monday, April 2, 2012. No essential services will be impacted by this schedule.
