Public Affairs and Promotions

This component of OEBD helps to coordinate community festivals, business grand openings, special ceremonies, etc. A key thrust of these activities is to generate community participation. OEBD provides strategic assistance in coordinating involvement of public officials and community leaders, and will assist with publicity efforts.

Partners for Progress

Inglewood Partners for Progress (IPP) was incorporated as a nonprofit corporation in June of 1993. The membership is comprised of representatives from the Forum, Hollywood Park Race Track and Casino, Centinela Hospital Medical Center, Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital, Inglewood Park Cemetery, the City of Inglewood, and the Inglewood/Airport Area Chamber of Commerce. The Partners organization is responsible for developing a series of innovative programs and projects to enhance the City's image. Examples of projects initiated by Partners for Progress or currently underway include:

  • The Mobile Assistance Program to assist stranded motorists
  • Establishing the Travelers Information Radio Station at 620 AM to help motorists find the best access in and out of Inglewood
  • Improving streetlight illumination by 60% on major thoroughfares
  • 405 Freeway On/Off Ramp Graffiti Removal Program
  • Installing new system of signs to help motorists find the best routes to nearby freeways
  • Install new series of lighted monuments signs employing a common theme and featuring Partners locations
  • Street Banner Program to add color, liveliness and vitality to Inglewood's main thoroughfares
  • Landscaping and fa├žade improvements on Prairie Avenue frontage
  • Media Advertising and Promotions
  • Development of brochures that are widely distributed throughout Southern California highlighting the easy freeway accessibility of Inglewood's sports, entertainment and medical facilities
