My intent was to publish a newsletter monthly so as not to inundate your inboxes. But there is no much activity in our City, that I am forced to publish a fourth one for August. Headline news! We have engaged in a Public Private Partnership with the imminent Council approval of an agreement with Thrifty Oil to rehabilitate the gas station at La Cienega and Fairview and replace it with a Community Center for meetings in Inglewood. The facility will be exclusively used by the City and paid for by Thrifty from revenues derived from a digital graphics billboard from which Inglewood will derive a percentage of revenue. Once again, creative thinking and decisive action by the City Council will result in a benefit for Inglewood residents. An eyesore will be converted into a modern stylish structure. If approved by the City Council, construction will begin by the end of November. This Sunday, the eyes of the world will be on Inglewood as the Forum plays host to the MTV Video Music Awards. Inglewood continues to rise.|
