The Planned Assembly Development (PAD) process requires approval of a Special Use Permit for PAD projects. The Zoning Code requires two separate public hearings to consider approval of preliminary (conceptual) development plans and final (precise) development plans that may include modifications to development standards. The PAD process provides a method by which a planned development project can be constructed if it is consistent with the City's General Plan and complies with the provisions set forth in the Zoning Code PAD regulations (Section 12-39.2 of the Inglewood Municipal Code).

The City of Inglewood will hold a public comment period from December 3, 2009 to December 17, 2009 for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) Funding. The City of Inglewood and the City of Hawthorne are jointly applying for a grant amount of up to $1,984,292 under the NSP Allocation to acquire and rehabilitate six (6) foreclosed single family housing units and to provide down-payment assistance for low- to moderate-income families to purchase the respective housing units. The program is to be performed city-wide within the City of Inglewood and the City of Hawthorne.

On Saturday, January 17, 2009, community members will take to the streets for a symbolic civil rights march in celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Portions of the march route will be restricted between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

The Inglewood Police Department participates in the Avoid the 100 task force. We are assigned the South Bay Region and will be conducting saturation patrols beginning December 19th through January 1st. The saturation patrols will be throughout the South Bay, but they will also focus on DUI enforcement within the City of Inglewood.
In addition, we will have banners put up in the City warning drivers not to drink and drive and to call 911 if they see suspected drunk drivers. Local businesses and schools that have electronic message board signs have agreed to display messages not to drink as well as call 911 to report drunk drivers.

All City of Inglewood residents who live in a permitted area are required to renew their residential parking permit. Parking permits will expire at the end of the year and the City of Inglewood is asking all residents to come in and apply for the new 2009 parking permits.

Inglewood and South Los Angeles customers can now enjoy the next generation of banking as Bank of America officially reopens its Inglewood Main banking center at 330 East Manchester Boulevard. A celebration will take place on Friday, September 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the newly refurbished facility.

The effect of this vote is that the laws permitting the sale of certain fireworks in the City since the 1980’s will remain unchanged.

In celebration of our new integrated library system, Polaris, the Inglewood Public Library is offering a “Fines Free Week.” Running through Friday, August 17th, all Inglewood Library books returned will have no fines assessed.
During the transition to the new library system, all locations will be closed on Saturday, August 18, and Sunday, August 19. The libraries will reopen for normal operations on Monday, August 20, with the Polaris system in place.

The drill is annual exercise conducted by the County of Los Angeles and attended by emergency service personnel from the City of Los Angeles and several other South Bay cities. In accordance with Section 511 of the Public Housing Reform Act, the Inglewood Housing Authority (IHA) has developed its Public Housing Agency (PHA) Plan FY 2004-2005 and the 5-Year Consolidated Plan FY 2004-2009. Los Angeles World Airports has released the Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) for the LAX Master Plan which details proposed modernization of the airport. A public workshop has been scheduled for Monday, May 10, 2004 at the Proud Bird Restaurant adjacent to the airport and a public hearing will be held on Monday, May 24, 2004 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. A copy of the report is available for public review at the Inglewood Main Library and online at the Los Angeles World Airports website.
