I-READ SUMMER READING PROGRAM
Registration for the City of Inglewood’s I-Read Summer Reading Program is currently underway.  Students, grades K-12, are invited to participate in this fun-filled program.  Program activities will include free arts and crafts activities, face painting, sing-a-longs, storytelling, and live entertainment, all designed to encourage youth to read during their summer break.  Plus, participants can qualify to win great prizes.

For every book review and passing quiz submitted, the reader will earn prize points.  The individual that reads the most books or accumulates the most book quiz points will be eligible to win a grand prize. Twenty grand prizes will be awarded in three categories:  Most Books Read, Most Reading Points, and Super Reader.

Grand prizes will include the XBOX 360, Sony Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, a bicycle with helmet, amusement park tickets and other great prizes.  General prizes will be awarded to all students that meet the minimum reading program requirement of six (6) books.  The more the participant reads the more chances he or she will have to win!

The I-Read Summer Reading Program begins on July 6 and runs through August 15, 2009.  Prizes will be awarded at a special ceremony on Saturday, August 22, 2009.
