The Community Development Department’s Community Development Block Grant Division is hereby giving public notice of an amendment to the HUD Program year 2008-2009 Annual Action Plan and the 2007-2010 Consolidated Plan.
The purpose of this Substantial Amendment is to add a new activity to the approved 2008-2009 Action Plan and 2007-2010 Consolidated Plan. This new activity involves $600,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding that will be used in conjunction with a $200,000 grant from the United States Soccer Foundation. The Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services will provide improvements to the Edward Vincent Park Multi-Purpose Field Complex located at 700 Warren Lane in Inglewood, CA 90302. The improvement consist of the replacement of the existing natural grass turf on the smaller of the two fields, 70,000 square feet, located in the multi-purpose field complex with an artificial turf product called Field Turf. This artificial turf playing surface will increase the number of days that the field is available for use and decrease the current maintenance cost.
The City of Inglewood will receive public comments on this proposed amendment to the 2008-2009 Action Plan and 2007-2010 Consolidated Plan between May 12, 2009 and June 12, 2009.
