The Inglewood Public Library has contracted with a collection agency, Unique Management Services, Inc. , which specializes in the recovery of overdue library materials and outstanding fines and fees. The Library will continue to notify patrons by telephone for several weeks when items are overdue, and to bill patrons for lost materials. If these materials are still not returned, replaced or paid for, accounts will be referred to Unique in an attempt to recover the billed charges.
The Library's collection has been negatively impacted by the loss of so many of its materials and by the inability to adequately replace them when costs are not recovered. At a time when the Library's services and materials are in great demand, its collection has been decreased by the loss of needed items, leaving patrons without access to a wide range of critical resources.
The Inglewood Public Library hopes to significantly improve this rate of loss through its partnership with Unique Management Services and from better cooperation with its many valued patrons. The Library is committed to providing a high level of quality information service to its diverse users through a strong collection of print and non-print materials, computer databases, instructional classes and patron access to the internet.
Please contact Circulation staff at the Main Library (310-412-5387) or at the Crenshaw-Imperial Branch Library (310-412-5403) if you have questions about your account.
