The City of Inglewood has joined the First 5 LA Early Care and Education (ECE) Workforce Development Public Education Campaign, Quality Child Care Lasts a Lifetime to raise the awareness among parents on the importance of quality child care and the role it plays in a child’s development. The future of California lies in the success of our children. Providing children under five with quality early care and education is essential in ensuring they enter kindergarten ready to learn and prosper.
Research shows that 90 percent of a child’s brain develops my age three. These early years are critical and important to the development of how a child thinks, feels, acts, and interacts with others. Children who receive high-quality child care show more advanced language skills, do better in school, have fewer behavioral problems, and display better social skills. Ultimately, they are more likely to graduate from high school, and succeed in their academic careers.
