City Gears Up for Annual July 4th Celebration and Fireworks Spectacular
  The City of Inglewood will host its annual July 4th Celebration and Fireworks Spectacular on Friday, July 4, 2003 at Edward Vincent Jr., Park located at 700 Warren Lane.  The event will include cultural exhibitions, live bands, arts and crafts, face painting, activities for children, and much more.  The event will get underway at noon with live performances by Inglewood Guys and Dolls, Grupo Folklorico Macias, The Dance Forum, Nigerian Talking Drum Ensemble, and Danza Huitzilopochtli.  There will be a special performance by jazz artist Mel Holder.  Live bands, “Living Proof”, “N2N” and “First Church of Rasta,” will highlight the event from 2:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  The celebration will culminate at dusk with an elaborate fireworks display.  Free swimming, tennis, balloons, cotton candy, popcorn and games will be available throughout the day.  Picnic and barbecue areas will be available on first come first serve basis.  For more information contact the Inglewood Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department Cultural Office at (310) 412-8700.
