War Veterans Remembered During 55th Annual Memorial Day Service
Colonel John Wagner III (left) and William C. Murphy On Monday, May 26, 2003, the City of Inglewood hosted its 55th Annual Memorial Day Service.  Over 150 individuals were on hand for the celebration, including elected officials, residents, servicemen, volunteers, and representatives from 15 local and community-based organizations.  The City’s commemorative ceremonies celebrated the lives of war heroes from the City of Inglewood who gave their lives for our country.  It also paid tribute to the brave men and women who are currently serving in the armed forces.  

The event, which took place at the Memorial Obelisk at Inglewood City Hall, was highlighted by a very inspirational and dynamic keynote address by Colonel John Wagner III, Director of Staff, Space and Missile Systems Center at Los Angeles Air Force Base.  William C. Murphy, Post Commander, American Legion Post #188 served as Master of Ceremonies.  Special thanks are extended to the American Legion Post and Auxiliary volunteers and community services agencies for their participation and support of the event.
