Several Market Street Merchants are raffling cool stuff to those who attend the "Inglewood Celebrates the Arts" Festival this Saturday, November 1st, from 11:30 to dusk. Merchant who partake in the raffle will have a sign to identify itself as a participant. Click on the list below for a partial list of the cool stuff.
To encourage festivalgoers to enter Market Street merchants, raffle tickets are available only at participaint shops to qualify for their raffle item. If you want to win, you have to enter the store to fill out the raffle ticket. Leave it at the store and enjoy the rest of the festival. Winners will be announced at around 3 PM by the main stage. Due to time constraints, not all winners will be announced at the stage, but a list of winners will be posted at the Parks, Recreation and Community Services booth. In addition, the winners will be posted on the City's web-site.
Market Street will be jumping as a diverse array of artists, entertainers, food purveyors and arts enthusiasts fill the street. Festival activities will take place along Market Street from Florence Avenue to Hillcrest Boulevard.
An array of renowned entertainers will present song, dance and spoken word throughout the day on three stages and booths featuring multicultural artists, crafters and food purveyors, interactive games and arts and crafts for children will line the streets. The event will also include health and fitness demonstrations, hands-on art workshops and free giveaways.
The City’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department will sponsor its 29th Annual Fall Classic Car show featuring pre-1970 vintage cars and specialty vehicles. As an added attraction to the festival, the Department will present an Art Car Show. In laymen terms, art cars are artistically and sometimes outrageously decorated automobiles.
This is the City’s sixth annual arts celebration. Last year’s event was a great success. Over 6,500 residents and visitors to the City participated in the celebration. It is anticipated that there will be an even greater turnout and more excitement as The Celebration Continues…. Don’t miss the fun.
