In an effort to encourage residents to do their share in helping to keep the neighborhood clean, the City of Inglewood and Waste Management will be sponsoring a clean up in the District 1 and 4 neighborhoods. Councilman Curren D. Price, Jr. and Councilman Ralph L. Franklin are inviting residents to join them in cleaning up Districts 1 and 4. Both activities are scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 31, 2004.
The clean-ups will begin at 7:30 a.m. and last until 12:00 in the afternoon. For the District 1 clean up, all interested parties should meet at Center Park (111th Street and Yukon) behind Worthington Elementary School. For the District 4 clean up, all interested parties should meet at the 500 Block of East 97th Street. At both locations hats, gloves, and tools will be distributed. Refreshments will also be made available to all volunteers. Those who are interested in District 4 should contact Councilman Franklin at (310) 412-5320, or those interested in District 1 should contact Maria Smietan at (310) 674-5454.
In addition to the clean up, dumpsters will be located at several locations throughout the neighborhood for residents to deposit trash and green waste.
